Do you feel that there is something more for you?
I get it.
I rediscovered the world of nature and began hiking on mountains every weekend. Being somewhere in the mountain I realized that I had to do something good for our land. I decided to carry with me a plastic bag and just clean the garbage that found on my way - and so OneflagBKTN appeared.
Here you will find interesting articles, my hiking experiences, and the usual daily thoughts about everything that surrounds me.
Are trees social beings? In The Hidden Life of Trees forester and author Peter Wohlleben convincingly makes the case that, yes, the forest is a social network. He draws on groundbreaking scientific discoveries to describe how trees are like human families: tree parents live together with their children, communicate with them, support them as they grow, share nutrients with those who are sick or struggling, and even warn each other of impending dangers. Wohlleben also shares his deep love of woods and forests, explaining the amazing processes of life, death, and regeneration he has observed in his woodland.
Just as human beings, trees also age and die, when a tree is sick it receives protection from its neighbors with the help of the roots.
If trees communicate, wouldn't it be interesting to know how they do it? Trees are noticed by means of odoriferous substances, even for humans our smell speaks to the conscious and their conscious of people.
"Trees have a secret life that is only made known to those who climb them." - Reinaldo Arenas (Cuban writer, 1943-1990)
